FAQ

Travel grants
Please note that CAMP is unable to support national/international travel for students. However the registration, accommodation and food is covered by the course for all participants. Please consult your university/PI or external sources for funding your travel.
Type of visa and duration.
A Conference Visa is required for attending CAMP. This visa is valid for a maximum period of one month.
Extended visa for travelling in India.
If you plan to stay longer than 1 month, you will need to apply for a separate tourist visa.
Passport information for Dual Citizens. (Holders of 2 or more passports.)
Use the passport whose details you had initially provided us with. This is because we have sent those details to the Ministry of External Affairs which processes and clears you for entry on a conference visa.
Consulate to apply for visa.
Please apply to the same Indian consulate which you mentioned in the CAMP application form.
I am an undergraduate, am I eligible to apply?
Undergraduates who are currently in their final/ pre-final year and Master-level students are eligible to apply.
Extended accommodation and food requests.
Accommodation and food for the duration of CAMP will be covered by the course funds. Please note that we cannot support stay and food for more than the conference duration. If you must stay for a few days longer, then please write to us. This will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
When will I know the results?
Results will be shared over email on or before 31st May 2023. Please don’t email us about the status of your application before this date.
I don’t have a programming/math background. Can I still apply?
Yes. In the past we have had students from varied backgrounds including psychology, IT, molecular biology, etc. who have done well at the course. We encourage students from all backgrounds to apply. During projects people with complementary backgrounds are grouped together so that students also learn from each other.
Can I skip a day of the course?
No. Selected participants must be present on all days of the course.
Referee Letters
Once you have published your application, your referees would be contacted for submitting the letters. They will receive a link to upload a pdf file. Referee letters must reach us before the application deadline.
